Published by Erin Geoghegan at 5:20 pm under Know Your Personas

baseballBaseball season is in full-swing! To celebrate this national pastime and shed some light on common characteristics and behavioral tendencies of baseball fans in America, Emailresponsibly.com would like to share some interesting facts and statistics from Experian Simmons’ National Consumer Study.

  • While the majority of baseball fans are male, women make up over one-third of the fan base.
  • Basball fans tend to be a bit older.
  • Interest in baseball is reflected by the geographic growth of the sport – the Northeast and Midwest have the greatest concentration of baseball fans, and they are also the first areas to have Major League Baseball (M.L.B.) teams.
  • Most Spring Training Camps are held in Florida and Arizona. Does that translate into fans vacationing in those states? It appears that it does. Fans of Major League Baseball are quite a bit more likely to vacation in the traditional spring training states.
